Despite its obvious climactic disadvantages, as a territory hugging the south edge of the Mediterranean Sea, Egypt was frequently competed over by great powers. The land was united over 3000 years ago with the New Dynasty ruled by pharaohs to constitute one of the earliest and brightest civilizations in world history, and all daughters and sons of the Nile are proud of it.
